In this special service, we find solace in the guiding light of hope that leads us through the Advent season and into a season of renewal and joy. Come, and let us journey together toward the hope that awaits us.

This special service will also feature a heartwarming Children’s Christmas Pageant, where our youngest members reenact the timeless story of Christ’s birth, reminding us of the innocence and joy that fills this season. Come and be a part of a memorable service, as we seek peace and share the magic of Christmas through the eyes of our children. A Bake Sale will follow the service with lots of amazing home made goodies!

To elevate this celebration, our service will feature the enchanting Christmas cantata, “The Gift” by Lloyd Larson, performed by a full choir and a small chamber ensemble. Immerse yourself in the harmonious melodies and profound lyrics that tell the story of the greatest gift ever given, reminding us of the immeasurable joy that fills our souls during this special time of year. Come and share in the exultation of the season with us. This special service is a perfect opportunity to to share the spirit of Christmas and invite your family and friends to join you. All are welcome to be a part of this very special worship service.

Join us on Christmas Eve for a day of reflection and celebration, as we center our Advent church services around the theme of “Love.” In the morning worship service, we’ll kindle the fourth Advent candle, a symbol of the love that envelops us through Christ’s birth. Throughout the day, we’ll contemplate the profound love that this season represents.

As the day unfolds, we invite you to return for our evening Candlelight Service, a truly magical experience. Lit by the soft glow of candlelight, we’ll come together in unity to celebrate the love that Christ brought into the world. Through scripture, song, and prayer, we’ll be reminded of the immeasurable love that is at the heart of Christmas.

These services will provide a serene and joyous prelude to the night when we celebrate the birth of our Savior. Please join us in the spirit of love on this most special of nights.

Follow the Star! In the tradition of the Magi who brought gifts to baby Jesus, we are excited to continue our annual Christmas gift giving project. We are collecting gifts for children ages infant to 16 years old from Oct. 22 – Dec. 12, 2023. Tags are available on our hospitality table in the church foyer. Please consider having each gift be a value of no less than $25.00. You can also donate funds by clicking the link to the church’s website. https://elmhurstucc.org/giving/
All are invited to join in on this holiday tradition. We are partnering with San Lucas United Church of Christ church in Humboldt Park in Chicago and our new ministry partner, Advocate United Church of Christ church in the east side of Chicago. Gifts will be given out to families struggling to make ends meet during the holiday season.
