Echinacea purpurea

Large, daisy-like flowers with light purple petals surround a coppery-orange center cone. Flowers bloom on strong, upright stems above clump-forming, well branched perennial. Blooms early to late summer. Grows 3-5’ tall by 2’ wide.

Placement: Great for mixed borders, meadow gardens and background plant.

Care: Full sun. Plant in average, well-drained soil. Tolerates drought and poor soils. Once established, water deeply but infrequently. Fertilize in early spring with a slow-release fertilizer. Plant 3-4’ apart. Zones 3-8.
