Green Garden Fair and Seedlings Sale Pick Up
Saturday, MAY 11th, 2024 9:00 am to Noon
Join us for a fun filled morning of activities at our Green Garden Fair. If you pre-ordered organic seedlings from our winter sale, pick them up at the event. We will also have a large selection of additional organic vegetable and herb seedlings available for purchase. Beautiful annual flower varieties, chosen because they support pollinators, will also be for sale.
While you are there, visit with our many exhibitors who will share with you how to live more sustainably. New this year, bring your garden tools, kitchen knives and scissors and Custom Edge Sharpening will sharpen them for you. Prairie Wind Native Plants, a local native plant nursery, will be bringing a selection of native plants for home gardeners.
You’ll find Children UP sharing with our community the work they’re doing to provide education to youth in Uganda, the Garden Works Project sharing what they do to provide fresh produce to food pantries and the Illinois Solar Education Association who will answer your questions about solar panels. Some favorites will be back again this year too. The University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners will be there as will “Caroline’s Birdie Tweets” who will be selling bird seed ornaments. City Bee Savers will be selling local, raw honey and Sustain DuPage will be giving out heirloom pole beans. That’s just a few of the many fun things that will be happening at the Fair so you won’t want to miss it.
All proceeds go to benefit Church Ministries.
Mother's Day Musical Service

We all have women in our lives whom we admire and cherish. There’s no better time than now to show them how much they mean to us. Bring your favorite ladies to church and let them feel the love and appreciation they deserve.
Our Mother’s Day service will feature heartfelt prayers, a morning reflection, and beautiful music to uplift the spirit. As a special gesture, all the ladies present will receive a rose and indulge in delicious morning treats in our lovely parlor. Let’s celebrate the extraordinary women in our lives together! Work-Trip Delegation Commissioning Sunday

You are cordially invited to join us as we commission this summers work-trip delegation to the Island of Puerto Rico. After two years of carrying out fundraisers and learning about the needs of others, both close and far, we are sending off our 2024 work delegation. Make your presence known as we ask God to empower and protect those who will be representing us.
Memorial Day Musical Tribute Service

Join us at First Congregational UCC, Elmhurst on Sunday, May 26th at 10 am for a special musical tribute honoring our fallen American heroes. Our worship service will recognize and celebrate the sacrifices of those who have died while serving in the U.S. military, featuring special music by our chancel choir. We’ll reflect, remember, and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy today because of their bravery. A special collection will support K9s For Veterans, an organization aiding veterans with PTSD through trained service dogs, providing free food and basic medical care for the life of the dog. Join us to honor our fallen soldiers and show support for our active-duty service members.
Teen Parent Connection Diaper/Baby Wipe Drive

Teen Parent Connection Diaper/Baby Wipe Drive
We have a special mission opportunity during the next several weeks. We’re teaming up to collect diapers and wipes for the Teen-Parent Connection, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting teen parents in the DuPage area since 1985. Many low-income teen parents are facing challenges in providing for their families, including necessities like diapers and wipes, which can become a significant ongoing expense. Let’s come together to make a difference and support these families in need.
Beginning on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, and continuing through to Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16 we will be collecting diapers (sizes 5, 6, and 7) as well as unscented wipes. You can bring your donations to church on Sundays or drop them off during the week. Your generous contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of teen parents in need. Thank you for your support!

We’re thrilled to announce our 10th Annual De Colores Camp, inviting your children to join from
July 29th to August 2nd, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm daily.
Open to kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade, the camp combines interactive methods, including practical conversations and singing, to introduce Spanish. The week is packed with fun activities that nurture language learning, cultural appreciation, cognitive skills, and empathy. Lunch is included.
